Our highly qualified, experienced team has a wealth of experience across all corners of agriculture.

Our diversity gives us a depth of knowledge and experience to understand the issues faced by many kinds of agribusiness. From small farming enterprises to the highest levels of industry, we have worked extensively to deliver precision agriculture services tailored to our customers' individual needs.

  • Ben Fleay - Executive Director and General Manager Research and Innovation

    Ben is responsible for the day to day operations of Precision Agriculture and is heavily involved in all aspects of the business. Ben has extensive experience in agribusiness; was Managing Director with SQP Grain and at Emerald Grain was responsible for all grower origination and distribution activities in Victoria, NSW and SA.

    Previously Ben worked as a senior cotton agronomist for six years with corporate farms through NSW, and grew up on a local sheep and cropping enterprise. Ben has a degree in Agricultural Science from Melbourne University.
  • Simon Gabb - Precision Agriculture Specialist

    Simon Gabb is our Specialist for Western Victoria and Gippsland.

    Simon has significant experience in the agricultural sector, having worked in a variety of roles over the past twelve years across Victoria, NSW, Queensland and WA - as well as internationally - and remains actively involved in the family farm near Skipton. Simon is also completing a Bachelor of Agribusiness from Marcus Oldham.

  • Meera Cameron - Specialist Corporate Farms

    Meera is our Specialist overseeing our Corporate Farm clients. She is collectively responsible for the compilation and processing of spatial farm data and production of results and reports for customers. Meera has Bachelor degrees in Agricultural Science and International Development from La Trobe University.

    Previously Meera has worked in Horticultural Research and Development, and is part of the third generation on the family's broad acre, sheep and beef property at Skipton.

  • Kirsten Barlow - Principal Scientist

    Kirsten Barlow is an experienced soil scientist with over twenty years research experience within agriculture Victoria. She is the current Chair of Soil Scientists Australia's Certified Professional Soil Scientists accreditation. As Principal Scientist her role oversees the Field Services and Research & Innovation (R&I) divisions, providing well-rounded research capacity and capability for the Company's applied science activities and research projects whilst simultaneously supporting and building on the scientific basis for our farmer products. Kirsten is based in Corowa / Rutherglen.

  • Kara Bryant - Precision Agriculture Specialist

    Kara Bryant is a graduate of Sydney University and has deep experience (16 years) in agronomy and insurance assessment predominantly across the south west slopes of NSW. Kara has been engaged as an insurance assessor for the Agri-business Consulting Group and Crawford Agriculture since 2012, and been an agronomy consultant with Landmark and Meridian Agriculture since 2001. She will work alongside Matthew Kelly to service our existing and expanding farmer client base across Southern and Central West NSW, the Riverina and North East Victoria.

  • Simon Dowell - GIS Specialist

    Simon was recently appointed the role of GIS Specialist, based in Precision Agriculture's Ballarat head office. Simon is a qualified spatial scientist and will work alongside the Company's dedicated GIS team to process and output key data sets, along with supporting the Company's important research partnership with Federation University's Centre for e Research and Digital Innovation (CeRDI). He has many years' experience in use of GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and their applications.

  • Daniel McDouall - Field Technician

    Daniel joined the business in mid 2018 as a Field Technician, based in Temora. Daniel is a recent UNE graduate in Rural Science and hails from a farm near Bingara, east of Moree. He works alongside the dedicated farm services team based from our Temora office (shared with FarmLink) and will support the advisor team to execute our field work throughout NSW.

  • Bindi Isbister - Research Advisor

    Bindi is an environmental scientist (honours in soil science) with more than fifteen years experience working in agricultural research and development in Western Australia.

    Growing up on a farm in Kojonup (WA) and working with the Department of Agriculture and Food (WA) for ten years as Development Officer, Bindi has developed a thorough understanding of wheat research, saltland pasture, controlled traffic farming, precision agriculture and soil carbon management.
  • Matt Kelly - Precision Agriculture Specialist

    Matt Kelly is our Specialist for the Southern Riverina and North East Victoria; an area encompassing all clients south of Wagga Wagga.

    Matt has significant experience in the agriculture and technology sector, having worked in a variety of roles over the past ten years across NSW and WA, and remains actively involved in the family farm near Ganmain. Matt has also completed a Bachelor of Agricultural Business Management from Charles Sturt University.

  • Sophie Geldenhuis - GIS Specialist

    Sophie is responsible for the day to day processing of geospatial data to create user friendly, accurate maps. Sophie is a country girl from the Tablelands in Far North Queensland. She completed an extensive two-year training program at Transport and Main Roads, focusing on Spatial Science and Civil Design and subsequently graduated with an Associate Degree in Spatial Science.
  • Eva Moffitt - Precision Agriculture Specialist

    Eva has a strong background in agriculture and is highly qualified in geo-spatial technologies, having been awarded the university science medal for her studies in geoscience and biology. She previously worked for four years applying her studies to the mining industry, which has significant crossover in systems used in precision agriculture.

    Hailing from Temora where she grew up on her family's broadacre farm, Eva undertook a number of precision farming activities for her family prior to joining Precision Agriculture.

  • Mike Chaseling - Executive Chairman

    Mike has over 30 years experience in Australian and international agribusiness. In addition to his role at Precision Agriculture as an investor and board Chairman, Mike is a non-executive director and investor in CommStream Capital Ltd, an innovative company bringing an alternative capital model to Australian farmers. He was a co-founder and Deputy Chairman of Emerald Grain (2004-14) and chaired its Risk Management Committee. Emerald was acquired by Japan's Sumitomo Corporation in 2014. He has held senior roles with ConAgra Trade Group (Trading Manager), agricultural co-operative group NETCO (CEO), and the Australian Wheat Board/AWB Ltd (Trading Manager and Senior Wheat Merchant). He was Chairman of Southern Ag Grain and EP Grain (Emerald JV companies) and a director of Southern Quality Produce (SQP Grain). He served as an elected director of the industry group Grain Trade Australia and has consulted to the Sydney Futures Exchange on agricultural commodities. Mike owned an organic mixed farming enterprise in northern NSW, holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Systems Agriculture) from the University of Western Sydney and has completed the Advanced Management Program at the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania (USA).
  • Warwick Read - Non Executive Director

    Warwick brings to the company demonstrated experience in both agribusiness and primary production. He is a fifth generation farmer and has held several agribusiness roles including as former Director and Chairman of agricultural co-operative Southern Quality Produce and seed company GrainSearch. He holds an Associate Diploma in International Trade and Marketing at RMIT, has completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors course and has worked as a wool buyer.

  • Andrew Whitlock, Non Executive Director and Specialist Advisor

    Andrew is a founder of Precision Agriculture and holds positions on both the board and in the business. He is responsible for delivery of our services to farmers and has also been involved in consulting to industry on major projects.

    An Agricultural Science (hons) student from Melbourne University, Andrew was formerly the Department of Primary Industry's Precision Agriculture Agronomist (VIC) and was awarded Young Agronomist of the Year (2006).
  • Mick Cattanach, Executive Director and General Manager Farm Services

    Mick currently operates a cotton farm in Southern NSW, having worked extensively in primary production and corporate agribusiness. He was previously Managing Director of Emerald Grain, General Manager Marketing for national co-operative group NETCO and has overseen the grain marketing and wool production activities for DR Johnston and ConAgra (Australia). He is a former Director of Southern Quality Produce, Elginbah Pastoral Company and Australian Bulk Alliance. He holds a bachelor degree in Business (Agricultural Commerce) from the University of Sydney.
  • Murray De Jong, Non Executive Director

    Murray is a qualified lawyer who has held senior roles in both agricultural and legal industries. He is currently General Manager - Strategy & Planning at Burra Foods. Previously at Emerald Grain he was General Manager of Strategy and Business Development, General Manager Western Region, General Manager Corporate Services, Company Secretary /General Counsel and acting CFO. He was Executive Director and Commercial Manager of an agribusiness and real estate investment group and Corporate Advisor / Lawyer to real estate group APN. He also worked with legal firm Hall & Wilcox prior to moving into corporate roles. Murray holds an MBA from Melbourne business school and Bachelor degrees in both Law and Commerce (Deakin University).
