Why do on-farm research?

Strategic on-farm research plays a key role of increasing adoption of improved farm management practices/applications. Such trials in the past were considered to be labour intensive and rarely implemented.

Spatial technologies such as proximal/remote sensors and yield monitors enable rapid data capture of plant biomass, plant health and crop yields, facilitating efficient on-farm research.

We integrate local knowledge from agronomists and other service providers with these spatial technologies in order to facilitate effective on-farm research.

We offer a selection of services which include:

  • Identifying trial paddocks and sub-paddock locations for trials
  • Capturing proximal/remotely sensed imagery throughout the growing season
  • Offering technology solutions for collecting targeted sampling of crop and soil
  • Generating GPS coordinates for targeted sampling
  • Overlaying and comparing several spatial datasets (i.e. yield, imagery, EM-38, topography)
  • Analysis of yield and imagery data for formal reporting
